BASIX sets sustainability targets for water, energy and thermal comfort.

How to achieve a BASIX Certificate

BASIX certificates are generated by an accredited BASIX assessor using the online BASIX assessment tool to demonstrate compliance with each of the three sustainability targets.

When is BASIX required?

BASIX  is required for all new development and complying development applications associated with:

• Single dwellings
• Dual occupancy dwellings
• Villas & granny flats
• Townhouses
• Unit & multi-unit developments
• Alterations & additions greater or equal to $50,000
• Swimming pools and/or outdoor spas with a water capacity greater or equal to 40,000 Litres
